The ASRock B450 Steel Legend is an excellent motherboard for anyone shopping on a budget, with many excellent features included with it. For starters, the motherboard visually looks very nice, with a black, white, and gray color scheme.
It also has some very pretty RGB lighting on both the front panel and side of the unit that looks quite nice and is perfect for fans of RGB lighting.
One thing to note is that it is a budget motherboard and is not the best at handling incredibly demanding parts. It can handle a 4-core or 6-core processor with ease, but an 8-core or more will put a serious strain on the system.
The motherboard has a fairly good and straightforward layout, with everything pretty easy to access and figure out. Everything necessary is here, but as already stated, this motherboard is best intended for those on a budget, so if you’re somebody looking to build the most powerful PC out there, you’d better look elsewhere.
The motherboard costs slightly more than $100, which is an absolute steal for PC builders looking to build their first PC or building a PC on a bit of a budget.
The Ryzen 9 3900X and 3900XT would probably be best suited for a motherboard in a higher price range, as the B450 Steel Legend may experience some issues if said processors try to max overclock.
Though this process does a great job at its price range, the Ryzen 9 Series is better suited to other motherboards.

The ASUS TUF Gaming B550-PLUS motherboard is an excellent motherboard. It has a very sleek and nice design consisting of black and gray colors, with some slight yellow accents. Like the ASRock B450 Steel Legend, this motherboard includes some bright RGB lighting, though only on the front part this time.
Though it might be $60 more than the B450 Steel Legend, it is more than worth it. The price increase feels apparent, as both the build quality, look, and functionality are all better.
This board is built to withstand high amounts of heat, with 2-ounce copper layers that are intended to draw heat away from critical components to keep them at their optimal temperatures.
This allows for more headroom to push CPUs beyond their stock speeds, thus making this motherboard perfect for overclocking. This board also includes two heat sinks, an m.2 heat sink, and more that help it withstand heat.
It boasts a reinforced PCIe slot, ESD (electrostatic discharge) protectors, DRAM overvoltage protection, and a TUF LANguard which helps protect the motherboard from things like lightning strikes and static electricity.
It has support for up to four RAM slots with total support for up to 128 GB of RAM, and support for up to 4600 MHz when paired with 3rd gen AMD Ryzen processors.
This motherboard does also come with ASUS’ new noise cancelation software, which is interesting to say the least. When tested, the software appears to work fairly well and it’s a nice little bonus extra that is appreciated.
The motherboard performs very well, and functions great with the Ryzen 9 processors. As its name suggests, the motherboard is built for gaming and meant to withstand high amounts of heat and pressure.
For the price of less than 200 dollars, this motherboard is more than worth your cash, especially if you’re looking to get your gaming fix on somewhat of a budget.

The GIGABYTE X570 I AORUS Pro WIFI is yet another fantastic motherboard for the Ryzen 9 3900X and 3900XT. Costings more than 250 bucks, this motherboard sits somewhere in the middle of GIGABYTE’s X570 models, which range wildly in prices between $169.99 for the X570 GAMING X, all the way up to an in $699.99 for the X570 AORUS EXTREME which we will get to later.
Before its release, the AORUS Pro WIFI was advertised specifically to function well with the Ryzen 9 Series processors, and it does not disappoint. Just upon visual inspection, everything about this motherboard speaks high quality, from its sleek design to its very nice looking plain gray color.
This motherboard supports plenty of great features, with a few highlights including four memory slots that support up to 128 GB of DDR4 memory in dual-channel and are dressed in GIGABYTE’s “Ultra Durable Memory Armor,” 3 PCIe 4.0 expansion slots, as well as including Realtek 7.1 channel audio, a High Definition ALC1220-VB processor which is at the high-end of integrated audio solutions.
The motherboard performs as advertised, with it able to withstand an overclocked 12-core, 24-thread processor without strain. It manages to stack up to its higher priced competitors, all while offering a slew of great features.
On top of all of this, the motherboard also has some nice RGB lighting which is always a great plus and really adds to the motherboard’s visual presentation. In total, it boasts five headers for LEDs, two of which are pinned out for addressable RGB LEDs.
And when combined with GIGABYTE’s RGB Fusion 2.0 software, users can sync up their main component lighting with extra compatible peripherals to make for some insanely cool looking PC lighting.
This motherboard will cost more than 250 bucks, which seems more pricey at first glance, but with it having full support for even the most powerful Ryzen cards on the market and including a wi-fi adapter, it feels worth the price of admission.
Most motherboards don’t include wi-fi adapters, so this motherboard’s inclusion of it feels like a well addition and lessens the pain of paying $269.99, which already isn’t a ridiculously high price.
Wi-fi adapters ordinarily cost around $50-$60, so the inclusion of one feels like a fantastic deal, and roughly evens out the GIGABYTE X570 I AORUS Pro with the previously reviewed ASUS TUF Gaming B550-PLUS.
Between the two motherboards, it’s hard to say which is a better deal; both offer a range of features, but this board’s inclusion of a Wi-fi adapter makes it feel ever-so-slightly better in terms of value.

4. Asus ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Hero (Wi-Fi)

Asus ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Hero sits near the top of the list, and is priced at almost 400 bucks. It too has been built specifically to withstand the Ryzen 9 3900X and 3900XT, with the unit containing plenty of built-in features.
Since it’s an ATX board, it’ll look good with any mid tower chassis, such as Corsair 4000D Airflow.
This motherboard can not only withstand the newest processors on the market, but allow enthusiast gamers to get the most out of their parts, being capable to overclock with relative ease.
This motherboard exceeds in its presentation, with its layout appearing the most well-organized and clean. It is perhaps the most simple design yet: plain black, with black heatsinks over the VRMs and chipset, as well as black shrouds over the rear I/O ports and audio circuitry. A grey steel stripe runs across the unit, which adds some nice color to it.
It also packs in some very pretty RGB lighting, but this board’s approach to RGB is quite different: unlike other boards that feature scattered RGB lights throughout their body, this unit’s lighting simply adds some shining contrast to the black board, complimenting its black aesthetic.

So now we’ve arrived at the final motherboard: the GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Xtreme. Touted as the best in its class, this motherboard is also the more expensive in its class.
With prior motherboards providing more than adequate performance for less than half the price, it’s a wonder whether this product is even worth the price of admission.
Well, we’re happy to report that this motherboard manages to outperform its competition, in nearly every facet. Just by looking at it, it’s obvious that the AORUS Xtreme is of a very high quality, with a solid charcoal black color that looks incredible on its own, and is accentuated by RGB lighting throughout the unit.
The motherboard manages to handle even the most demanding processors without breaking a sweat, and packs in so many features, it is bound to impress. The unit also includes a Wifi adapter, which is absolutely fantastic.
While the unit is an incredible piece of hardware, it’s still very hard to look past its seriously high price. At almost 700 bucks, it hardly feels worth it.
For PC enthusiasts with no maximum budget, this is the best motherboard around; but for the average consumer, the cash could probably be better spent elsewhere. Maybe if it ever gets a price cut, we could recommend it more. But for now, the price is just too much for most PC enthusiasts.

While there are plenty of great motherboards out there, the question comes down to which one is the best value for your money, while still being able to handle your Ryzen 9 3900X or 39000XT.
While the GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Xtreme is the best overall product, its insanely high price just doesn’t seem worth it. On the other hand, ASRock B450 Steel Legend is incredibly affordable, but struggles with handling processors on the level of the Ryzen 9 Series.
Both the ASUS TUF Gaming B550-PLUS and the GIGABYTE X570 I AORUS Pro WIFI feel like the two most worthwhile boards, with the X570 I AORUS Pro WIFI just barely edging out its competition.
While all of these boards are fantastic, its this model that packs the most features, while still remaining the best value for its price.
